Our Summer Camp Programs
Camp Mt Crags ** Camp Gilmore ** Wilderness Camp
are three different camp programs that are located within a wonderful 564 acre property in Malibu Canyon, owned by The Salvation Army. We are about 35 miles from Los Angeles and 5 miles from Malibu beach. All of the summer staff meet together for a 5 day Orientation period, before the campers arrive. Staff then break off to the camp they are hired for and begin an awesome adventure throughout the summer.
Purpose of our camps
We exist to serve the young people of the communities of Southern California. The primary goal is to provide a Christian camping experience that will quicken the spirit and change the lives of our youth.
Camp offers boys and girls of a variety of ages a creative experience in cooperative group living which will contribute to their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. We serve campers from various racial, cultural and religious backgrounds, without discrimination.
Camp Mt Crags

Mt Crags offers a variety of unique opportunities to minister in different ways. The camps include a Sports Camp, Adventure Camp, Creative Ministry Camp, Music Camp, and a Senior Citizen Camp. A lot of the camps here are geared toward those who attend and participate in local Salvation Army churches. Mt Crags hires around 45 staff for the summer.
Camp Gilmore

Gilmore is structured with similar 5-day camping programs with a different bunch of co-ed campers each week, between 6 and 12 years old. The campers come from a variety of churches, youth centers, pubic and private schools, or directly thru their family. Alot of the campers at Gilmore come from under-privileged areas and look at camp as a "Place of refuge." We hire around 55 staff for Gilmore.
Wilderness Camp

Wilderness Camp is an awesome opportunity for young people 13-16 years old to experience outdoor living like they have never done before. Each week brings a new group of 20 co-ed campers for a 5-day adventure. This camp uses teamwork, outdoor living skills, and a variety of outdoor education activities to offer young people an opportunity to experience God in a very natural way. You will find the 20 campers and 7 staff backpacking, cooking outdoors, setting up tents for an overnight campout, rock climbing, and mountain biking. They also spend a day at the beach each week.
Why work at camp?
- For the Kids! Campers need good Christian role models.
- Christian fellowship! You will grow closer to God and make great new life-long Christian friends.
Lord Bless You!
